| 9 May 2008:
Lucy & Shaabrak are in
the Great Britain Squad for the Beijing Olympics.
"What a week this has
been! I received the news on Tuesday that we have been selected onto
the Great Britain Eventing Team for the Beijing Olympics. It has
been a lifetime ambition of mine to compete in the Olympics! It just
hasn't quite sunk in yet! Now the planning starts for what will be a
great spectacle in the summer. I will keep my Diary up to date,
promise!".
4 May 2008:
Lucy & Shaabrak finish
2nd at Badminton.
"I was thrilled to
bits with our performance at Badminton. It was quite frustrating to
get so close to winning it but I would gladly of accepted coming 2nd
at the beginning of the competition.
I was delighted with our dressage and showjumping. It was during
both disciplines that I felt Shaabrak really came of age. One of
those defining moments in a horses career.
I think the difference between finishing 1st or 2nd was really down
to our cross-country. We ended up taking the long route on a couple
of sections and after that we played it safe which ultimately cost
us some time.
Having said that it
really was a great performance and now I am so pleased that all of
hard working and training (yes, including me working on mine!) has
paid dividends." |
